Job Description

Are you someone who thrives on helping others grow, overcome challenges, and discover their potential? Rural Arts is looking for a motivated, empathetic, and proactive individual to join our team as a Training and Skills Keyworker.

In this rewarding role, you'll work one-on-one with people who face barriers to employment, education, or training-offering tailored, person-centred support to help them build confidence, develop new skills, and take meaningful steps toward a brighter future.

You'll be a key part of our Training and Skills team, guiding participants through creative well-being programmes, helping them prepare CVs, develop interview skills, and connect with education and job opportunities. Whether it's signposting to local services, supporting personal development, or simply being a steady, encouraging presence, your work will have a lasting impact.

We're looking for someone with experience in mentoring or support roles-someone who's empathetic, organised, and ready to roll up their sleeves and get stuck in. If you believe in the power of creativity to change lives and want to work in a collaborative, community-focused environment, we'd love to hear from you.

Job Requirements

  • Appreciation of the value of creativity in overcoming life challenges.
  • Experience working in a support, mentoring or advisory role for participants facing barriers to employment.
  • A positive, empathetic and non-judgmental approach to our participants.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and motivate others.
  • Confidence in working independently whilst being a collaborative team player.
  • Experience of working with adults in a related field such as employability, careers guidance, counselling, and / or mentoring.
  • Proficiency in using IT systems for recording and reporting.

Job Responsibilities

  • Help to recruit eligible participants from target cohorts for our Training and Skills programmes, including RISE2Thrive and Trailblazer.
  • Undertake holistic assessment of each participant's needs.
  • Deliver 121 support sessions to our participants, focussing on building confidence, motivation, and employability skills.
  • Provide non-judgemental and person-centred mentoring that empowers individuals to take positive steps towards their goals.
  • Develop bespoke action plans with participants identifying challenges and creating achievable time-specific objectives.
  • Support participants with skills audits, CV writing and interview preparation.
  • Work closely with our Training and Skills team to support the development of our programme of creative well-being interventions.
  • Work closely with local providers to signpost to education and training opportunities.
