The Bradford Way is seeking an experienced and creative PR and media professional (or agency) to devise and manage our media strategy, secure regional press coverage, and develop digital content that communicates the project to both sector audiences and the wider public.

Job Description

The Bradford Way is a two-year strategic programme supported by Arts Council England's Place Partnership fund. Launched in April 2024, it brings together Bradford Metropolitan District Council, Bradford Producing Hub, the Cultural Voice Forum and The Leap to build a sustainable, joined-up cultural infrastructure across the Bradford district. This initiative supports diverse artists and community-led creativity, improving collaboration, opportunity and cultural engagement in the lead-up to and legacy of Bradford 2025.

We are now seeking an experienced PR and media professional (or agency) to lead a 9-month media and communications strategy. The aim is to grow visibility, secure regional and national press coverage, and tell the story of The Bradford Way to both sector professionals and the wider public.

Key deliverables include:

  • A PR and media strategy with a focus on digital and traditional media
  • Press coverage across local, regional and national outlets
  • Storytelling that highlights supported artists and organisations
  • Digital content plans across Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and newsletters
  • Support for The Bradford Way Conference in March 2026
  • Analytics and impact reporting

Fee: £12,500 (inclusive of VAT)

Job Requirements

  • Develop and deliver a communications, PR and media strategy aligned with The Bradford Way's goals
  • Secure local, regional and national media coverage
  • Write and distribute press releases to key outlets
  • Monitor media and online conversations for relevant coverage
  • Plan and deliver digital content across Facebook, Instagram and partner platforms
  • Work with consortium partners to identify and share compelling stories
  • Showcase success stories from supported artists and organisations
  • Communicate project impact using KPIs and the Story of Change framework
  • Promote Bradford's cultural growth in connection with Bradford 2025 and beyond
  • Support and publicise The Bradford Way 2026 conference
  • Secure positive press coverage by August 2025 to support visibility and future funding

Job Responsibilities

Creation and implementation of a communications, PR and media strategy to include:

  • Visibility of The Bradford Way programme and its activities to a broad cross-section of the culture sector and public audiences locally and regionally
  • Local, regional and national press features secured over the 12 months
  • The writing and distribution of regular press releases aligned with key milestones of The Bradford Way
  • A digital content strategy, including planned posts for Instagram and other digital platforms, including newsletters, Facebook, LinkedIn and Bluesky
  • Case studies and storytelling pieces featuring artists and organisations supported by the project
  • Provide data and analytics reporting to The Bradford Way consortium on the impact of the PR, communications and media strategy regularly
  • Arrange photography to support the above when required
