Working closely with TPH Project Manager, this role will share responsibility for the delivery of funded projects, development of the Hub, and long-term organisational strategy including income generation. This role is a management position, working with trustees, staff, volunteers, and partners.
Hours: 20 per week Salary: Pro-rata 20hrs p/w £18720 (FTE £34632) Contract: 18 months from January 2026 (extension subject to funding) Location: Hamworthy, Poole (hybrid working from home considered)
The Power House, Poole is a creative community hub with Cornerstone Patch food growing community garden, dedicated to improving wellbeing and connection through arts, learning, and participation. We believe creativity can bring people together, strengthen communities, and restore hope in challenging times.
Our long-term vision is to establish a Cultural Community Centre on the former power station site, while continuing to grow our community-led programme in our new Hub which opened on the Blandford Rd, Hamworthy in May 2024. In addition we manage a community garden, The Cornerstone Patch, 2 minutes' walk from the Hub.
Thanks to National Lottery Reaching Communities funding, we are recruiting a second Project Manager to work alongside our founding Project Manager. Together, they will provide leadership for our staff team and ensure TPH's sustainability, growth, and impact.
Person Specification
Essential
- Management experience (staff, volunteers, or projects)
- Track record in fundraising, grant applications, or income generation
- Experience managing budgets and financial accountability
- Experience of organisational development or business planning
- Excellent communication, organisational, and partnership skills
- Commitment to community-led development and the values of TPH
- MS Office proficient
- Full clean driving licence
Desirable
- Experience in creative health and wellbeing, youth work, creative arts, or community gardening/environmental sustainability
- Knowledge of Third sector and community development
- Familiar with social media platform/content creation, digital communication platforms
- Familiarity with governance requirements of charities/CIC
- Facilities management
- Human resources
Key Responsibilities
Supporting Strategic Leadership & Governance
- Work with trustees to agree and implement business priorities
- Support organisational planning, visioning and the delivery of a business plan
- Support policy development and implementation
- Support compliance with Charity Commission, Companies House, safeguarding, and other regulatory requirements
- Contribute to reports and updates for trustees and funders
Team & Project Management
- Line manage staff (Community projects coordinator, Youth Project Lead, Admin) through formal and informal mechanisms
- Support recruitment and induction of new staff and volunteers
- Delegate tasks effectively and foster a positive, supportive team culture
- Oversee development & delivery of funded projects, ensuring outcomes are met and learning is captured
Finance & Fundraising
- Support and oversee budget management and financial planning
- Lead/collaborate on grant funding applications, reporting, and relationship management with funders
