Storyhouse is seeking a Producer to help shape and realise our artistic ambitions across a bold and varied programme.
The Producer will be responsible for shaping and realising Storyhouse's artistic ambitions, playing a central role in the creation and delivery of Storyhouse productions and co-productions across our diverse programme. You will lead the producing process from conception to performance, working closely with the artistic and programming teams to deliver work that spans indoor and site-specific theatre, family productions, community projects, and both large- and small-scale tours. You will ensure that creativity, collaboration, and high production values are embedded throughout the organisation. You will build and nurture strong relationships with artists, creative teams, partners, and stakeholders, supporting Storyhouse's commitment to bold, inclusive, and community-focused storytelling. You will champion Storyhouse's artistic vision, contributing to a programme that reflects and engages the communities we serve, and strengthens Storyhouse's role as a leading cultural institution locally, regionally, and nationally. You will act as an ambassador for Storyhouse's producing work, advocating for our artistic values and ensuring our productions reach and inspire the widest possible audiences
Experience working in a theatre producing role within a producing theatre. Experience in building, managing and overseeing theatre production and creative teams. Proven ability to negotiate terms and prepare equity and UK Theatre contracts. Experience arranging and scheduling meetings, rehearsals and show calls. Demonstrated experience of team leadership or line management, with the ability to inspire, guide and motivate staff. Strong financial management skills, including working confidently with detailed and complex budgets. Highly developed organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and responsibilities while performing effectively under pressure
Produce Storyhouse's in-house productions, including schools tours, pantomimes, adaptations, co-productions and touring work. Lead on all aspects of line producing across projects. Take responsibility for project scheduling, driving delivery forward, and ensuring productions run smoothly once the producing framework has been set by the Head of Producing. Manage production budgets within parameters set by the Head of Producing. Maintain production schedules and planning documentation, ensuring all systems are kept up to date. Attend rehearsals, production meetings, previews and press performances. Provide general management for Storyhouse productions, proactively problem-solving to keep processes running smoothly. Support touring activity, including transfers to other venues. Ensure all productions have appropriate space, resources and support to achieve the artistic vision.
