Job Summary

We are looking for a motivated young person aged 18–24 to join our team as an Outreach and Digital Media Trainee. This role is part of our talent development programme, funded by Baobab Foundation and GMCA offering hands-on experience, mentoring, and training to support your growth and future career

Job Description

This role is perfect for someone keen to build hands-on experience in digital marketing, social media management, film editing, and content creation. Working closely with our communications and events team, you will support the promotion of our projects, festivals, and workshops while developing valuable skills. We particularly encourage applications from young people with refugee or migrant backgrounds.

Location: Islington Mill, part-time (2 days/week), on-site, willing to travel across Greater Manchester.

Duration and pay: November 2025 - July 2026, first 4 months as apprentice (£7.55/hour), then freelance at minimum wage.

Job Requirements

Essentials:

Aged 18-24

Not in full-time education or full-time employment for the duration of training and freelance work

Living in Greater Manchester

Keen to learn and grow

Strong team collaboration skills: able to work well with colleagues and collaborators

Able to attend our office and project sites across Greater Manchester

Job Responsibilities

Key Training during apprenticeship:

General:

Teamwork

Organisational skills, policies and procedures

Nuances of working in the arts sector

Hands-on experience in grassroots community work

Content Creation:

Writing clear, engaging content for posts, and newsletters

Using tools like Canva for simple design

Video editing and graphic design projects

Understanding tone of voice and brand consistency

Audience Engagement:

Understanding target audiences

Gain practical experience in project promotion and audience engagement, documenting events and activities through photos, and videos

Understanding evaluation process

Planning marketing campaigns
