Description
This role is responsible for leading and delivering Compton Verney’s membership and admissions strategy, maximising income from day visitors and members while enhancing the visitor journey. It combines income generation, team leadership, CRM insight, and audience development.
- Drive growth and innovation in membership and admissions.
- Lead and motivate front-line and support teams to achieve ambitious targets.
- Act as operational lead for our CRM system (Spektrix), ensuring strong processes for reporting, compliance, and income tracking.
- Work in close partnership with the Audience Insight Lead to ensure admissions and membership data supports wider organisational insight, segmentation, and audience growth strategies.
- Play a key role in connecting visitors, members, and supporters with Compton Verney.
Membership and Admissions
- Deliver and monitor the membership and admissions budget.
- Analyse sales, renewals, and customer journeys to inform growth and retention strategies.
- Develop and implement innovative membership offers and benefits.
- Handle visitor and membership enquiries across channels.
- Ensure front-of-house teams are trained, motivated, and equipped to upsell and cross-sell.
- Work with Development colleagues to support progression from member to donor.
- Maximise charitable income through strong Gift Aid performance.
CRM and Data Insight
- Act as operational lead for Spektrix, responsible for reporting, compliance, and user guidance.
- Work closely with the Audience Insight Lead to ensure membership and admissions reporting aligns with wider organisational segmentation, evaluation, and audience strategies.
- Develop best practice guidance for staff using the system.
- Use data to inform short- and medium-term budgeting, sales forecasts, and team performance.
Marketing
Marketing and Membership Promotion
- Collaborate with Marketing and Communications colleagues to develop membership communications plans.
- Support targeted campaigns to encourage re-attendance and deepen engagement.
- Use customer feedback and evaluation tools to shape membership and admissions marketing.
Team and Development
- Line manage the Membership and Admissions team (assistants and sales staff).
- Deputise for the Head of Marketing, Communications and Audiences when required.
- Support training and professional development across the team.
- Ensure all staff are briefed on objectives, KPIs, and campaign activity.
