Job Summary

We are looking for a clear and creative communicator, who is organised, friendly and passionate about the arts being accessible to all.

Job Description

The Marketing and Communications Manager will play an important role in helping the Albany and Fun Palaces to communicate their impact, developing a communications strategy which amplifies their work across Lewisham, London and nationally.

This is a new role, combining communications across the Albany and Fun Palaces for the first time. The aim is to create better connection and collaboration between both organisations, and capitalise on opportunities for joint advocacy, profile raising and PR.

This is a varied role and no two weeks will look the same.

For Fun Palaces, you will play a key role in shaping and sharing the stories and voices of the Fun Palace movement, ensuring our campaign for cultural democracy reaches further; as well as engaging new people in the campaign. You will manage digital channels and email marketing;

coordinate national campaign messaging, branding and

tone; keep track of online analytics and work with a PR agency to gain media coverage for Fun Palaces.

For the Albany, you will act as a key point of contact within the team, coordinating communications across our events programme; community and engagement work; and income generating strands. You will take ownership over our social media and email channels, and support the Head of Marketing and Communications on the delivery of the Albany's mission, vision and values. We are looking for a clear and creative communicator, who is organised, friendly and warm, and able to make connections with people across and beyond our organisations. You will be passionate about the arts being accessible to all, and be excited about working across multiple art forms and projects.

Job Requirements

A high level of demonstrable marketing experience.

Friendly, warm, and able to make a connection with people across and beyond the organisation.

The ability to work independently, taking ownership over campaigns, and collaborating with other members of the team when needed.

A positive, calm and professional attitude.

Curious and thoughtful, interested in investigating the impact of your work, and confident with analytics and reporting tools.

Experience managing budgets and working to targets.

Organised and accurate, and able to plan ahead, create and manage schedules, and keep track of many moving parts.

A clear and creative communicator, who can write fun and accessible copy across different platforms and formats, adapted for different audiences.

A visual thinker, with an eye for design and a feel for what makes engaging content across digital and print.

A speedy prioritiser, who can balance different projects with their own priorities and deadlines.

Job Responsibilities

Support the Fun Palaces Director and Head of Marketing and Communications in developing and delivering communications strategies for the Albany and Fun Palaces, aligned with organisational goals.

Lead on the delivery of marketing campaigns for the Albany's live events programme, including theatre, music, comedy, family and the annual Christmas show.

Manage the social media calendars, overseeing the

creation of digital content using tools like Canva, CapCut and Adobe Suite; managing paid advertising and spend; and keeping an eye on new platforms and trends.

Manage website content using WordPress and Craft CMS. Build pages, write news and blog content, and liaise with partners and colleagues to ensure information is updated in an accurate and timely manner.

Support the Head of MarComms in managing internal communications, including the distribution of a monthly staff newsletter.
