Job Summary

Do you love creating inspiring visitor experiences? We're looking for two Interpretation Developers to join our growing Public Engagement team, helping to shape how millions of visitors experience three of the UK's most beautiful gardens: RHS Wisley, RHS Hyde Hall and RHS Rosemoor

Job Description

Working across a diverse portfolio of interpretation projects, you'll transform horticulture, science, history and nature into engaging experiences that spark curiosity and inspire a lifelong love of gardening. From developing creative briefs and commissioning designers to overseeing installation and evaluating success, you'll work collaboratively with colleagues and creative partners to deliver exceptional interpretation.

Overview of the Role:

In this role you'll:

- Deliver interpretation projects from concept through to installation across RHS gardens.
- Commission and manage external designers, artists, fabricators and creative specialists.
- Work collaboratively with horticulturalists, scientists, curators, learning teams and visitor operations colleagues.
- Manage project budgets, programmes and suppliers to ensure successful delivery.
- Help maintain and continuously improve interpretation across the region.
- Ensure projects are accessible, sustainable and deliver outstanding visitor experiences.

We're looking for someone who has:

- Experience delivering creative, exhibition, interpretation or visitor experience projects.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Experience working with external designers, contractors or creative suppliers.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- A collaborative approach and a passion for creating engaging public experiences.
- An interest in gardens, heritage, museums, culture or the natural world would be an advantage.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a newly established regional interpretation team, working on a wide variety of projects that help visitors discover the stories behind our gardens. No two days are the same, and you'll have the chance to work with colleagues from across the RHS to create experiences that inspire curiosity, learning and a lifelong love of gardening.
