Interior Design Assistant - (Islington Residents Only)

studio ATARA is a dynamic contemporary-eclectic interior design practice dedicated to creating captivating, sustainable, and wellbeing-focused spaces. Rooted in biophilic design principles and design excellence, we deliver tailored solutions across both commercial and residential projects.

We are working with studio ATARA to find an enthusiastic Interior Design Assistant to join our team as an intern. This role is ideal for someone proactive, curious, and passionate about interior design, who is eager to take initiative, contribute ideas, and grow within a creative studio environment. Some understanding of sustainable and biophilic design is a bonus, but a willingness to learn is essential.

Pay / Work Flow -

This is a 300 hour placement, with the rate of £13.85

The placement will be begin on March 2nd, 2 days per week.

Job Requirements

Administrative experience, ideally within a design or creative setting

Strong communication skills - in person, by phone, and in writing

Social media experience (personal or professional)

A self-starter attitude with strong organisational skills

Demonstrated interest in interior design through studies, work experience, or personal projects

Ability to sketch and visually communicate design ideas

Fresh creative ideas and enthusiasm for learning

Ideal / Bonus

Passion for sustainable and biophilic design practices

Experience with CAD or drawing/visualisation software (e.g., AutoCAD,

SketchUp, InDesign, Photoshop, Procreate

Job Responsibilities

General administrative support including managing correspondence, coordinating meetings, maintaining the sample library, and ordering/monitoring inventory

Assisting with social media and website management (content planning, posting, engagement, research)

Supporting client and supplier communication and helping to maintain positive relationships

Assisting with the preparation of project proposals, presentations, and design concepts

Contributing creative ideas and supporting design development through sketching, research, and mood boards

Helping gather materials, samples, and references for ongoing projects
