Description

Job Summary

The Friends of Highgate Cemetery Trust is seeking an experienced Head of Development to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to play an important part in Highgate Cemetery’s transformation as we will soon submit our £6.7m Heritage Fund delivery phase application.

Job Description

As Head of Development you would be responsible for executing fundraising strategies to meet our revenue and capital finance needs. You would work closely with trustees and the senior management team to identify potential donors, cultivate relationships, and deepen engagement from existing members and supporters.

You would be part of a small team of only fifteen staff. As a member of the senior management team you will report directly to the Chief Executive, developing funding relationships as well as contributing to the Trust's plans to widen its audiences and raise its profile as a charitable cause.

You would manage the Development Manager, ensuring fundraising operations run smoothly and efficiently. You will also need to work independently on capital fundraising and major gifts, while also playing an active role as a team member. You would be supported by other members of staff as needed, in particular the Chief Executive, Head of Finance, Project Directors, Head of Public Programmes and Head of Operations.

We value diversity and welcome applications from a range of candidates. We are happy to discuss flexible working arrangements.
