Job Summary

This is an exciting new role to be part of Creative Kernow’s growing enterprise activities, with an initial focus on the management and delivery of our research and consultation contract with Cornwall Council, for the development of Local Plan 2030-2050;

Job Description

This contract is structured around two key strands for 2025/26:

1. Community Engagement Workshops
A programme of twelve full-day, drop-in workshops delivered across Cornwall, each day split between two locations. Each session will be delivered by a team of approximately six Creative Kernow staff, supported by colleagues from Cornwall Council. These workshops aim to engage a diverse range of community members.

2. Internal Cornwall Council Workshops
A series of three-hour, topic-focused sessions with Cornwall Council teams, designed to support the development of shared ways of working and cultural alignment to deliver the Local Plan. Sessions are led by the Enterprise Projects Manager and Senior Facilitator, with additional support from Creative Kernow staff.

Key conditions of work:

Contract: Temporary contract, subject to satisfactory completion of a 2-month probationary period.

Employer: Creative Kernow Ltd.

Pay: £36,000

Holidays: 20 days plus bank holidays. This is pro rata for part time employees.

Hours This is a part-time post; 22.5 hours per week. This may include work outside of normal work hours e.g. for events. A TOIL system operates, rather than payment of overtime.

Place of work: Krowji, TR15 3GE but hybrid working is possible. The role involve attendance at meetings and events elsewhere.

Pension: Creative Kernow will automatically enrol you into The People's Pension if you are aged at least 22 but you are under State Pension age earning more than £10,000 a year (£833 per month). If you are eligible to join, you will be required to pay 5% of your salary and Creative Kernow will contribute 3%. You can subsequently opt out if you wish. Job Requirements

We welcome applications from creative facilitators, project managers, and consultants from other sectors. The role can develop as our enterprise work evolves.

Essential:

  • Excellent communication; able to engage a range of collaborators

  • Consultancy or facilitation experience in public/private sectors

  • Comfortable with changing briefs and priorities

  • Able to summarise complex information clearly

  • Confident presenting to and facilitating diverse groups

  • Strong relationship-building skills

  • Flexible, proactive, and solutions-focused

  • Experience managing projects, budgets, and communications

  • Driving licence and access to transport

Desirable:

  • Skilled in designing effective workshops

  • Event planning experience with attention to detail

  • Interest in Cornwall's creative sector

  • Entrepreneurial mindset

This role is 0.6 FTE initially, with availability across at least four working days. This equates to 22.5 hours per week.

Job Responsibilities

Client Relationship Management

  • Relationship holding and client management

  • Work with Director, Cornwall 365 / Director of Creative Enterprise on further tender bids

Workshop Design & Delivery

  • Collaborate with clients and facilitators to design purposeful sessions

  • Complete research/reading required for the workshops, and incorporate learnings

  • Co-facilitate sessions with Senior Facilitator - talking and listening to a variety of different people in different settings

  • Produce written summaries and collated session notes

  • Adapt delivery in response to client feedback

Project Management

  • Coordinate staffing and provide team briefings

  • Manage logistics, including venue hire and catering

  • Promote workshops via local networks and online platforms

  • Collaborate with local Community Champion on local planning and delivery

  • Monitor budgets and contribute to financial reporting for CK

  • Encourage team participation in Enterprise Projects .
