The Engagement Officer plays a key role in supporting Proper Job Theatre Company's community engagement and adult learning programmes. Working closely with the Engagement Manager and Engagement Team, the postholder will recruit participants, build relationships with referral partners, provide high-quality learner support, coordinate programme administration and help ensure projects achieve their outcomes. This role combines relationship building, administration and practical delivery, making it ideal for someone who enjoys working directly with people, has excellent attention to detail and is comfortable balancing multiple priorities in a dynamic community setting. We are looking for someone with: Experience working with adults in community settings and providing administrative support. Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is desirable. An understanding of barriers that can prevent adults from engaging in learning, employment or community activities.
Knowledge of local support services and community resources in Kirklees and Calderdale.
Awareness of safeguarding responsibilities and a good understanding of equality, diversity and inclusion.
Excellent communication, organisation and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
Confidence using Microsoft Office and digital systems, with strong attention to detail and accurate record keeping.

Maintaining regular contact with participants, supporting engagement, attendance, retention and progression.
Building relationships with referral organisations and community partners, and developing new referral opportunities.
Maintaining accurate participant records, completing enrolment paperwork and supporting monitoring and evaluation.
Supporting course delivery, including preparing spaces and materials, welcoming participants and supporting facilitators.
Identifying and reporting safeguarding or wellbeing concerns in line with organisational procedures.
