Drama Teacher for SEND Charity, In-Deep

Job Summary

We are a grassroots award winning charity based in London that works with children and young people with SEND and are looking for a teacher/therapist to run after school drama sessions twice a month in central London for 11 - 18 year olds.

Job Description

The sessions are twice a month at Francis Holland School for Girls near Sloane Square on a Tuesday from 5.00 - 7.00p.m begining on 23rd April. They will be on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month. The ideal candidate will be running our 11 - 18 group. Young people attending will have a range of needs including autism, epilepsy, learning disabilities, ADHD so we are looking for an experienced teacher.

The sessions will include warm up's, Movement songs, drama games and we will be doing an annual show. We will also be offering placement opportunities to drama students at colleges such as the Guildhall. This will give them the opportunity to look at different avenues after graduating. The ideal candidate will be responsible for training session and doing planning and reflection sessions with the students.

Job Requirements

This is an exciting opportunity for a new project In - Deep is starting. We are looking for an experienced teacher/therapist in SEND preferably in the 11 - 18 age group who is passionate about drama and SEND and able to pass this on to others.

Experience in training and supervising students is preferred but not essential.

Job Responsibilities

- Delivering high quality fun bi monthly drama sessions to young people with SEND

- making accurate notes and reports for monitoring purposes

- Producing an annual show involving young people

- delivering training session for drama students and doing planning and reflection sessions afterwards
