North Northamptonshire Council is seeking a passionate, collaborative Discover Northamptonshire Officer - Culture to support the delivery of our ambitious Cultural Masterplan and Local Visitor Economy Partnership (LVEP) priorities. North Northamptonshire is home to a rich, diverse landscape of arts and cultural organisations, creative freelancers, independent artists, heritage sites, tourism businesses, and vibrant communities. The Culture, Tourism and Heritage service exists to champion these assets-ensuring creativity, heritage, and place-making lie at the heart of local well-being, community pride, and sustainable economic growth. While this post is based at the Discover Northamptonshire Hub at Rushden Lakes, it is an active, outward-facing role focused on project delivery, partner collaboration, and sector engagement right across North Northamptonshire. Rather than managing a single venue or fixed program, this role acts as a supportive link across our towns and communities-working directly with independent artists, cultural organisations, freelancers, and local businesses to co-design inclusive activity, support sector growth, and deliver flagship events. This post plays a key role in bringing together local authority priorities, LVEP strategic goals, and local partners. Working across culture, heritage, tourism, and community sectors, you will help co-design engaging programming, facilitate partner networks, coordinate flagship events (such as Northamptonshire Day, Diwali Festival, and the annual LVEP Conference), and ensure authentic creative and local voices shape North Northamptonshire's identity, towns, and public spaces. If you are motivated by making places better, empowering local creative talent, and ensuring culture and heritage genuinely enrich people's lives across North Northamptonshire, we would love to hear from you. Experience: Proven track record in arts, culture, heritage, tourism, or community project delivery within multi-sector partnerships. Sector Knowledge: Understanding of the creative sector, including working with arts organisations, venues, creative freelancers, and independent artists. Relationship Building: Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with creative practitioners, community groups, businesses, and council stakeholders. Project Management: Ability to manage competing priorities, budgets, and event logistics across multiple locations. Approach: Proactive, solutions-focused, and committed to equality, diversity, and place-making. Travel & Flexibility: Willingness to travel regularly across North Northamptonshire and work occasional evenings, weekends, or bank holidays to support key projects and events. Sector Engagement: Build relationships with arts organisations, creative freelancers, heritage sites, and community groups across North Northamptonshire. Strategy Delivery: Implement place-based initiatives aligned with the Cultural Masterplan and Local Visitor Economy Partnership (LVEP) goals. Event Management: Plan, co-curate, and deliver key events and cultural projects (e.g., Northamptonshire Day, Diwali Festival, and the LVEP Conference). Area Travel: Travel across North Northamptonshire for site visits, partner meetings, and project delivery. Hub Collaboration: Support occasional creative displays, pop-ups, and showcases at the Rushden Lakes Hub alongside the core team. Funding & Growth: Help identify and develop opportunities for external grants, sponsorship, and artistic partnerships. Operations: Maintain budgets, risk assessments, and project evaluation, ensuring health, safety, and governance compliance.
