We are looking for a Community Engagement Coordinator to join our small collaborative team at From The Other, working closely with us to shape and deliver one of our projects.

From The Other is an independent creative production company specialising in innovative music commissions, live events and creative productions, with a focus on championing underrepresented artists, cross-art collaborations and grassroots culture.

Salford Everywhere is an ambitious public art project that forms part of a wider cultural programme, produced by From The Other & Walk The Plank, marking Salford's 100th year in 2026. The project sees Matthew Rosier projecting a series of large scale video projections onto landmark buildings across Salford. These projections will take the form of a 'parade' of residents from across the city, filmed through a series of filming days at locations across Salford.

The Role:

We are looking for a highly driven and personable Community Engagement Coordinator who will play a key role in delivering Salford Everywhere. The Coordinator will lead on outreach across communities in every borough of Salford to engage participants in the project. You will build and sustain relationships with local groups, listening to their input and keeping them informed on key dates in the project schedule. The Community Engagement Coordinator will ensure that people from across Salford feel welcomed, represented, and celebrated in the work.

This is a hands-on, people-focused role that requires strong organisational skills, enthusiasm, and the ability to bring together a diverse cohort of participants to share in this exciting creative project.

Job Requirements

Essential:

  • Proven experience in community engagement or participatory arts projects.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Strong relationship-building skills, with sensitivity to working across diverse communities.
  • Experience coordinating large numbers of participants
  • Knowledge of safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion best practice.
  • Flexibility to work some evenings/weekends as required.

Desirable:

  • Extensive knowledge of Salford and its communities.
  • Experience of working with videographers and/or filmed productions

Job Responsibilities

  • Support the development and delivery of a community engagement plan that reflects the diversity of Salford's neighbourhoods.
  • Build and sustain relationships with local groups, schools, workplaces, and cultural organisations.
  • Coordinate participant involvement - from initial contact to filming days - ensuring a positive, inclusive, and safe experience.
  • Taking a leading role in hosting and facilitating community engagement and filming days (welcoming, speaking, handling questions etc)
  • Support the artist in gathering stories, voices, and participation in ways that are sensitive and respectful.
  • Manage practical logistics (scheduling, permissions, safeguarding, access needs).
  • Work closely with the wider project team (Artist, Senior Producer, Choreographer) to align engagement with production schedules.
  • Document engagement activity for reporting, evaluation, and legacy.
