Job Summary

You will be working within the collections management team, supporting the wider Palaces and Collections directorate, as we migrate from our legacy Collections Management System (CMS) to a successor system.

Job Description

This role is full time, 36 hours per week, Monday - Friday.

We are the independent charity that loves and looks after six of the most wonderful palaces in the world. The palaces are the setting for the stories that shape us all, and we're bringing them to people in ways that mean more to them.

The role:

We are looking for someone who is passionate about collections and their associated information to join the collections management team.

This is a great time to join Historic Royal Palaces as we embark on an exciting period of change. You will be working within the collections management team, supporting the wider Palaces and Collections directorate, as we migrate from our legacy Collections Management System (CMS) to a successor system.

Working closely with colleagues in Collections Management, Information Management, Conservation and Curatorial, you will ensure the use of documentation standards and provide technical expertise and support to enable colleagues in their use of the new CMS.

You will encourage best sector practice and promote engagement by providing support to colleagues through in-person and recorded training, guidelines and materials.

You will work collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation to improve collections information and documentation. You will also support a wide range of collections management activities, including managing new acquisition proposals, delivering location updates and audits, and arranging and facilitating fine art transport.

Although based at Hampton Court Palace, you may also be required to work at other Historic Royal Palaces sites on occasion.

About you:

You will have a passion for heritage and relevant experience working within a collections management team.

You will have keen attention to detail and be happy to work both independently and alongside colleagues.

An excellent communicator, you will be confident training users to use the Collections Management System.
