Job Summary

The Administrator and Communications Officer will lead on general admin for the organisation, alongside day-to-day communications.

Job Description

Salary: £150 per day

Contract and hours: 1 day per week (4 days per month) equivalent to 8 hours per week (including a 1 hr lunch break). Happy Valley Pride's standard hours are 10:00 - 18:00 Monday - Friday, however this changes periodically when we have events in the evenings or on weekends. Hours can be flexible (as long as they are over HVP's standard hours) and will be agreed on offer of employment. We are seeking further funding and there may be an opportunity to increase hours in the future. Freelance contract currently for 30 months. Probation period of 3 months. Subject to continued funding.

Place of Work: Home/Happy Valley Pride Office, Hebden Bridge

Reporting to: Operations Director

The Administrator and Communications Officer will lead on general admin for the organisation, alongside day-to-day communications.

Time will be split proportionally throughout the year based on requirements. Many tasks listed below will not be required on a week-by-week basis.

They will work closely with the Operations Director, Artistic Director and Board of Trustees to support the smooth running of the organisation on a daily basis. They will be expected to spend a minimum of two days per month in the Happy Valley Pride office.

Job Requirements

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Essential

  • At least 2 years' paid contracted employment in a similar role;
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and work to tight deadlines;
  • Proven ability to solve problems;
  • Proven interest in arts and culture;
  • Experience with supporting and coordinating volunteers;
  • Passion for equity and inclusion, particularly around LGBTQIA+ issues;
  • High-level experience of using Microsoft Office (especially Excel), Google Drive, finance management software, Adobe;
  • Organised with good initiative;
  • Excellent attention to detail;
  • Living within commutable distance of Hebden Bridge;
  • Proven track record in good communication skills.

Desirable

  • Experience of working for a similar arts organisation/Charity;
  • Experience of working with creatives;
  • Experience of digital marketing, social media and websites;
  • Experience using website Content Management Systems.
