Description
At theprintspace, we’re the world leaders in fine art and photographic printing, with studios in London, Düsseldorf, and New York. For nearly two decades we’ve worked with some of the biggest artists and institutions in the world, combining craftsmanship with cutting-edge technology.
We’re now looking for a Framer to join our London studio, specialising in producing high-quality bespoke and ready-made frames for fine art and photographic works.
This is a hands-on, detail-oriented role where craftsmanship, accuracy, and a strong sense of presentation are key. You’ll ensure every framed artwork leaving our studio meets gallery and museum standards — upholding theprintspace’s reputation for precision, quality, and excellence.
This is not a warehouse job — it’s a craft-led role where your eye for detail and technical skill make a visible impact every day.
What you'll be doing:
- Constructing and assembling bespoke and ready-made frames to exact specifications
- Cutting mouldings, mount boards, glass, and backing materials using manual and CNC-assisted tools
- Installing fixings, hanging systems, and fittings for gallery and client display
- Inspecting framed artworks for finish quality, alignment, and cleanliness prior to QC sign-off
- Maintaining consistent visual standards and craftsmanship across all framing orders
- Tracking work progress and logging tasks using FORM and other production software
- Collaborating with the Mounting, Printing, and Dispatch teams to meet delivery deadlines
- Monitoring stock of framing materials and reporting shortages or quality issues early
- Operating framing equipment safely and performing routine maintenance checks
- Supporting upkeep of CNC and glass handling equipment under supervision
- Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe workspace
What we're looking for:
- Proven experience in fine art or photographic framing
- Skilled in using hand tools and machinery for cutting, assembling, and finishing frames
- Strong understanding of archival materials and presentation standards
- Excellent attention to detail and pride in craftsmanship
- Comfortable using digital tools (FORM, Slack, email) for workflow communication
- Reliable, organised, and proactive — thrives in a collaborative, high-quality studio environment
- Flexible during peak workloads, with a hands-on approach and problem-solving mindset
Why join us?
- Be part of a passionate team working with some of the world’s most renowned artists and galleries
- Work hands-on with beautiful prints, materials, and finishes daily
- Join a supportive, creative studio culture where precision and quality always come first
- Develop advanced framing and finishing skills with cutting-edge tools and technology
