Minor Attractions 2025 is seeking 3x Visitor Experience Assistants to join the small internal fair team. Join us to gain exciting hands-on experience working at one of the freshest new art fair experiences in London!

Job Description

Minor Attractions is a week-long art fair hosted in The Mandrake Hotel inviting international galleries and not-for-profit art spaces to show their most daring artists and artwork, taking place from the 14-18th October 2025. Minor Attractions is designed as a space where art and nightlife meet, allowing the swells of international audiences to mingle with the art workers and artists that make the art world tick, creating a new context for London's buzzing art scene.

We're on the look out for 3x proactive and artistically engaged people to join our small team where you'll be giving tours and providing directions, monitoring visitor numbers, handing out leaflets, assisting our VIP Liaison in the management of participating galleries and overseeing a small team of volunteers. We're looking for people who can be a brilliant advocate for the Minor Attractions - a friendly face who's willing to share their passion for visual arts with the public.

You will need to be a confident communicator and be able to respond quickly and positively in a changing environment. Being flexible in your approach will be essential as you will be engaging with visitors in a variety of ways across the site.

Tuesday 14th- Saturday 18th October

Hours 14th-17th 12-8pm

Saturday 18th October 12-6pm

Shift Patterns:

14th October 12-8pm

15-17th 1pm-7:30pm

18th 1pm-6:30pm

Visitor Experience Assistants are paid £13.85, equal to the London Living Wage

Job Requirements

-A pro-active and customer-focused individual with excellent interpretation skills, who are at ease with the public.

-Previous experience working in a customer service position in an arts or visitor-serving cultural organisation.

-Ability to work effectively in a small team

-Good presentation, communication, listening and interpersonal skills.

-A working knowledge of a foreign language would be useful.

You will gain hands-on experience working in an art fair environment and strengthen your events and contemporary art knowledge. Be part of the team shaping the 3rd year of Minor Attractions. Meet like minded people and build connections with artists and international galleries, whilst contributing to and supporting our vision.

Job Responsibilities

-Provide high standards of pro-active and re-active customer care, providing a warm welcome to all our visitors.

-Enrich the visitor experience by pro-actively sharing your knowledge of the art fair, galleries participating and events programme with our visitors.

-Regularly monitor the condition and cleanliness of the front of house, taking corrective action and/or reporting issues, as appropriate.

-Support in the management of volunteers working on front of house activities.

-Discretely and sensitively safeguard the security of visitors, colleagues and artworks responding to heightened incident measures as appropriate and reporting them to the necessary staff or security teams.

-Signposting fair attendees, providing directions to the various exhibitions and sculptural installation around the hotel
