Valley Brook Interpretation Project, Crewe Town Council

The Valley Brook played a significant role in the establishment and growth of Crewe Works and the development of the town. Today, the brook is the focus of a major restoration programme designed to improve biodiversity, reduce flood risk and reconnect communities with this important landscape feature.

The successful contractor will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of the project and will provide:
i. Overall project management and delivery of the interpretation commission from inception to completion, including programme management, stakeholder liaison and reporting.
ii. Review of available information and development of an interpretation framework.
iii. Recommendations for the location, themes and visitor experience of between five and seven interpretation points along the corridor.
iv. Research, writing and editing of all interpretive text and supporting content, ensuring content is accessible, engaging and suitable for a broad public audience, including audiences with English as an additional language.
v. Sourcing, licensing and management of all images, illustrations, maps and other graphic materials required for the project.
vi. Design and artwork production for between five and seven freestanding interpretation panels, incorporating accessibility principles.
vii. Incorporation of project branding requirements and any agreed supplementary interpretive elements such as QR codes.
viii. Management of the manufacture and production of all interpretation panels, including all posts, fixings, fittings and associated components required for installation.
ix. Provision of a comprehensive installation package to enable installation by a third party following approval from project partners.
x. Provision of all final artwork files, image licences, permissions, production specifications and project documentation.
