ABOUT THE ROLE

Position: Trapeze Teacher

Reports to: Aerial Programme Lead

Contract type: Freelance

Hours: 4:30 - 5:30 , 6:00-8:30pm Tuesday evenings commencing 3.11.26 until 8.2.27 (Excluding 22.12.26 until 4.1.27 for Winter Break, No youth sessions 16.2.27, 6,13.4.27)

Location: The Circus House, Manchester, UK

Contract Pay: £1130.5

Start date: 3.11.26

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Delivering trapeze classes at all levels of the aerial programme. From youth (from age 6) to adult beginners to adult intermediate level.

Session planning within The Circus House aerial programme structure

Monitor the online booking system

Other related duties and responsibilities as reasonably required by the Co-Directors

Interacting positively and respectfully with people regardless of physical or mental ability levels in order to allow them to take part, to learn, and see how circus can benefit them physically and emotionally and lead to positive social experiences

Job Requirements

PERSONAL SPECIFICATION

Essential

Trapeze teaching at a high level

Right to work in the UK

Willingness to under go an enhanced level DBS check

Ability to work independently and within a small team

Ability to monitor online booking system

Excellent verbal communication skills

Interpersonal skills with people at all levels

Enthusiasm for teaching and sharing circus skills with a broad range of
participants

Ability to address a group of people and to speak clearly and confidently
about learning practices whether to individuals or multiple people

Interest in theatre, circus or outdoor arts

An understanding of equal opportunity and cultural diversity

Willingness to rise to challenges of the role, work within a busy work environment

Desirable

Ability to perform and teach other circus disciplines outside of trapeze

Experience working with a community circus company

An up-to-date knowledge of the outdoor arts, circus or theatre sector
