Hidden London Tour Guides deliver captivating stories to adult and family audiences in disused stations and secret sites across London. Ideal for applicants with guiding experience or strong transferable skills, including the ability to retain detailed content and deliver it in an engaging way.

This role is a flexible working role and is not employed directly by London Transport Museum.

Base Pay Rate: £16.29 per hour
Working Days: Tours operate Wednesday to Sunday. A minimum availability of two days per week is essential. Guides submit their availability six weeks in advance. The ability to pick up additional days is always valued.
Working Hours: A typical shift ranges from 8 to 10 hours, depending on the site. We run 3-4 tours per day, with comfort breaks included.

You will deliver guided tours at a variety of sites across London to a high standard, ensuring narrative consistency and excellent customer service.

Deliver private, corporate and other special tours both at Hidden London sites and at the London Transport Museum in Covent Garden.

Act as the "Site Person in Charge", responsible for the management and safety of the tour group. You will undertake all necessary training and ensure full compliance with strict and comprehensive systems of safe working.

Maintain detailed knowledge of multiple tour scripts to be able to deliver a range of tours confidently and respond knowledgeably to audience questions about each tour site, wider transport history and London Transport Museum.

Oversee the tour group's carefully choreographed movements through busy public spaces and into strictly controlled non-public areas, keeping good time and ensuring the group is kept together and always supervised.

Job Requirements

Experience- It is essential you have a demonstrable background in delivering content to a large and diverse audience.
Health and safety- You are switched on and alert to your environment and surroundings. You can learn and apply strict safety procedures diligently and professionally at site.
Active- You are looking for an active role where you will be on your feet, getting a high daily step-count. You are comfortable with climbing some very big staircases.
Travel- You are comfortable with travelling to and from different parts of London for your shift.
Available- You are looking for a flexible working role where you can apply for shifts up to 6 weeks before the start of each new month. You will be able to give regular weekly availability which must include weekends, our busiest days. Shifts can range between 8-10 hours.

Job Responsibilities
