Established in 1995, Bow Arts Trust has grown to become one of London's leading affordable workspace providers for emerging artists and creative professionals. We champion lifelong learning and inspire future generations of young people to access the arts. We support over 1,000 professional artists, designers and makers with the infrastructure and practical support, skills and training they need to build networks that help them become successful and sustainable. Through our studios we invest and work with our local neighborhoods, helping to improve opportunities for people to access our creative skills. You will be working to ensure that all aspects of the organisation's property portfolio are efficiently and safely managed and that good relationships are built and maintained with the studio artists, designers and makers, to maximise charitable income and support Bow Arts' charitable aims. The post is a mix of office-based and regular, site-based work at our studio and housing buildings across London. You will be responsible for managing all activity relating to the studio spaces within your portfolio. Excellent communicator: both spoken and written
Methodical and thorough with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail - numerate and literate
Practical and resourceful, with an ability to take initiative and be responsive to a varied role
IT literate with a working knowledge of MS Office software
Previous office experience in a client facing role
Ability to work well with a small team
Previous experience of facilities management, maintenance and upholding strong fire safetyJob Responsibilities
Induct new artists, designers and makers
Maintain high occupancy and excellent communication with artists, hosting regular studio surgeries and following up on issues
Market studios and flats through websites, social media and signage; plan and oversee events such as Open Studios
Ensure buildings are safe, maintain H&S records, ensure compliance with strict fire safety procedures, organise maintenance works, and manage artist-caretakers
Monitor utilities and manage late payers, reporting issues to line manager; increase Gift Aid scheme sign up
Attend meetings and cross-department activities, including occasional evenings and weekends (TOIL provided)
