Job Summary

We are looking for a confident, personable & organised individual to join our team in the lead up to, & during our 2025 season. They will recruit & manage the street team for all our Edinburgh shows.

Job Description

Location: Remote working May - July. Office-based in Edinburgh for the duration of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
Type: Fixed Term Freelance Role. We anticipate the working pattern will be 1 day a week between May - July. Full time from Sat 26 July - Fri 29 August (incl. weekends)
Office hours: This is a freelance position and so we expect that outside of the festival, the candidate would manage their own schedule as best suits them, however our usual office hours are 10am - 6pm Monday to Friday. During the Edinburgh Festival, the office is staffed 7 days a week and weekend and evening working is required. Days off are rotated between the team each week during the festival with at least 1 day off per week.
Fee: £3500
Start date: Week commencing Mon 5th May 2025
Reporting to: Marketing Manager

Job Requirements

Required Skills:

  • Must have a good knowledge of and be confident using Microsoft Office and Google Drive Suites.
  • Work well as part of a team and individually.
  • Work well in a busy and fast-paced environment and to tight deadlines
  • Able to work on multiple projects at the same time
  • Experience managing people / leading a team
  • Good attention to detail
  • Good communication and numeracy skills
  • An interest in theatre / the arts / Edinburgh Festival Fringe
  • You must also have the right to work in the UK - in a freelance role - and your work eligibility must be valid for the duration of the contract. Please note that some UK visas, including most student visas, do not permit self-employed / freelance work.
  • A good geographical knowledge of Edinburgh and understanding of the Festival Fringe would also be helpful but is not a deal breaker!

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities include:

  • Working with and supporting the Marketing Manager to deliver the marketing campaign for each show
  • Leading on recruitment for Street Team Members, including reviewing applications, communicating with candidates, and conducting interviews
  • Creating and maintaining the Street Team rota and line managing the Street Team members including ensuring good communication and punctuality, appropriate breaks and days off and pastoral care including arranging the halfway pizza party!
  • Working alongside the Producers and the Marketing Manager to ensure that Street Team Members are paid correctly and on time
  • Attending the daily marketing meeting and working with the Producers and Marketing Manager to make sure that the Street Team Members are appropriately deployed and briefed each day to actively push sales and that the right messaging is being used for each show.
  • Researching exit flyering and cross-promotion opportunities
