Job Description

Reece Sibbald Productions is seeking a highly organised, confident, and proactive Stage Manager for our 2025 Christmas pantomime, Snow White, at the newly restored Roxy Theatre, Leadgate. This production marks the grand reopening of the venue following its Art Deco restoration, and the first pantomime on its stage in over 90 years.

The Stage Manager will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of the production from rehearsals through to the final performance, ensuring smooth, safe, and professional delivery of every show.

The successful candidate will lead on the running of all rehearsals, tech, and performances, ensuring everything is delivered to schedule and handled with care and professionalism.

You must be available for:

Rehearsals and tech from 4th December 2025 (9-12 hours per day)
All performances from 16th - 28th December 2025 (3.5 hours per show, 22 performances)

Fee starting from £1,500, varying upon experience of the applicant.

Job Requirements

  • Previous stage management experience in theatre, ideally in pantomime or fast-paced family entertainment.
  • Confident cue-calling and show-running ability.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
  • Calm under pressure with strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable managing both adult and child performers backstage.
  • Availability from 4th December to 28th December 2025, including evenings and weekends.
  • Knowledge of basic backstage safety protocols and risk assessment procedures.

Job Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and run all rehearsals, technical, and dress rehearsals in collaboration with the creative team.
  • Call all technical cues during performances (lighting, sound, and run scene changes).
  • Manage props, set pieces, and backstage logistics.
  • Maintain clear and timely communication between cast, creatives, technical crew, and venue.
  • Oversee backstage safety, ensuring performers and crew adhere to health and safety procedures.
  • Create and maintain a prompt book and performance reports.
  • Support quick changes and transitions as needed.
  • Troubleshoot any issues during performances to maintain the show's flow and professionalism.
