We are excited to be producing the world premiere of Hot Pot, a queer East Asian play about friendship, lost love and identity, at Playhouse East (Haggerston in East London), followed by a small scale tour to Nottingham, Leeds, and Derby. Venues are mostly 80 to 100 seaters. We are looking for a London-based Stage Manager who is reliable, motivated, and is able to drive for the production. The overall dates for the production are: 25th May to 12th June (9am to 5pm rehearsals at Playhouse East, Monday to Friday) Two more venues might be added between the touring venues, but the last show will be 4th July. We will be paying the Equity rate of £631 per week, plus extra for driving and subsistence for days out of London. - Run rehearsals and performances like a tight ship. - Support the director, cast, and creative team throughout the rehearsals and performances.
- Prepare, source and maintain props and dressing-room items. Bonus points for organised prop inventories that would make a librarian weep.
- Execute quick get-ins and get-outs between festival performance slots like a whirlwind ninja.
- Drive the tour van to touring venues. On the road karaoke sessions optional.
- Work swiftly and efficiently, write rehearsal and show reports, maintain show continuity, safety, and backstage zen as the kickass backstage boss.How to Apply
