Description

Job Summary

We’re looking for a creative, organised, and audience-focused Marketing & Communications Coordinator to help bring Generator’s Sonic Futures programme to life across Tees Valley.

Job Description

This is a hands-on role at the heart of an ambitious initiative that connects communities, artists, industry professionals, and partners, and celebrates the opportunities we're creating across the region.

You'll work closely with our Marketing Manager and Content Creator to deliver our digital marketing strategy, support PR activity, and capture live events, making sure the programme is visible, engaging, and celebrated. If you're passionate about music, storytelling, and community, and want to help shape a vibrant, inclusive music scene in Tees Valley, we want to hear from you.

Sonic Futures is a major multi-million-pound initiative funded by Tees Valley Combined Authority and Arts Council England, designed to build a thriving, sustainable music scene across Tees Valley. Delivered by Generator, the project includes dedicated funding for Tees Valley-based bands and artists to develop their careers, alongside support for music education and plans to grow the region's festival landscape.

Job Requirements

The role requires experience creating social media content, engaging with creative communities, and capturing content such as short-form video or photography. You should be confident using Canva or similar tools, highly organised, and comfortable managing day-to-day tasks in a fast-moving environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills, an understanding of digital trends, and the ability to build positive relationships with artists, partners and stakeholders are essential. You must be proactive, collaborative, passionate about music and culture, and able to travel across Tees Valley with flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends.

Job Responsibilities

The role involves growing the Sonic Futures audience, engaging communities across Tees Valley, and acting as an on-the-ground presence at events to gather stories and insights. You'll coordinate daily social media delivery, support content creation, capture live moments, support PR activity and maintain brand consistency. Responsibilities include managing website content, contributing to newsletters and articles, supporting planning and content calendars, maintaining media libraries, tracking performance across channels, and feeding insights into reporting to demonstrate impact and refine strategy.
