In this role, you'll use your extensive experience of collaborating with stakeholders across large organisations to share the fascinating stories playing out every day behind the scenes, and encourage new followers to join us in our free and welcoming public spaces. You'll be adept at nurturing a community, calm when managing a crisis online, obsessed with the stats, and excited about emerging platforms. As an experienced shortform content creator, you'll be an excellent communicator and expert at juggling multiple projects, keeping them on track to meet deadlines. You'll excel at working both independently and as part of a team, managing cross-organisational stakeholder groups, and be comfortable presenting to colleagues and board members alike. - You will manage the daily activity (content creation, publishing, reporting, community management and crisis management) across our existing and emerging brand accounts (including Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, X, BlueSky, Threads and YouTube). - You will work collaboratively with internal stakeholders (e.g., Brand Content Manager, Marketing Managers, departmental social media account managers, bloggers and designers) to create engaging content that tells the breadth of our stories and reflects our vision and mission. - You will identify opportunities to innovate and better embed social media across the organisation, advising departmental sub-accounts on best practice. -Aligned with the Library's vision, mission and our digital engagement goals, develop and deliver our social media strategy, identifying opportunities to extend our digital reach and connect with users online. - Collaborate with internal stakeholders to create engaging content that is tailored to audiences and platforms and tells the stories of the Library, whilst ensuring brand tone of voice is consistent. - Be strategic adviser on social media to all British Library staff including C-suite and Board members and external partners. -Manage the governance of social media at the Library across a complex stakeholder matrix including ~35 bloggers, ~50 Library sub-account social media managers, Marketing Campaigns team and Press and other departments across the organisation as required. - Manage any external third-party suppliers' contracts to support our social media strategy. - Manage a content plan and social media calendar.Job Summary
