Red Oak Theatre is currently recruiting for a number of roles on Sian De Bergerac, a bold new play by Welsh writer Emma Cooney, directed by Samantha Jones, premiering at Sherman Theatre, Cardiff in Autumn 2026. A visually immersive, AV-integrated production combining live performance with creative captioning, the show explores grief, desire, identity and the surreal world of professional catfishing. We are seeking: Emerging AV Artist - A supported creative role at the heart of the production. The successful candidate will attend community engagement workshops with Our Streets Now, work closely alongside the Associate AV Artist on content creation for the production, and collaborate with the Digital Creative Marketing practitioner to bring the AV world of the show to life for audiences. Community engagement workshops will take place at times confirmed on appointment depending on the community group's regular meeting schedule, no more than 7.5 hours. Production week call times will be confirmed closer to the time; hours during production week will typically fall within a 9am-9pm window, Monday to Saturday, in line with standard theatre production practice. Weekly hours will not exceed the legal maximum of 48 hours under the Working Time Regulations, with a minimum 11-hour rest period between calls. Fee: £2,000, calculated at a day rate of £150 equating to 13.3 days across the campaign period - approximately 1.1 days per week, working flexibly to respond to project demands (some weeks may be slightly more or less). A standard working day is equivalent to 7.5 hours (9am-5pm). Hours are to be worked flexibly within these parameters, with a combination of remote and in-person working. Please note attendance at the preview performance (evening, 19th September) is required as part of the role.Job Responsibilities
