Description
IDA Studio is looking for a Senior Assistant to support the work of artist Yukimasa Ida and to supervise the junior assistants.
The successful candidate will assist with both artistic production and studio organization, ensuring that the studio runs smoothly and efficiently. The role involves hands-on creative work as well as coordination and supervision of daily studio operations.
- Contract: Freelance
- Working Days: Minimum once a week (usually Thursdays 10am-6pm, additional days/hours can be arranged upon discussion.)
- Salary: £13 and up, depending on experience
- Graduated from an art school with several years of professional or assistant experience
- Advanced drawing skills and good painting ability
- Experience as a studio assistant or in a similar creative position
- Basic skills in stretcher frame assembly and canvas stretching
- Strong attention to detail and good communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Driving license (preferred)
- Pre-production and drawing based on the artist's collage and references
- Screen printing and assisting with painting processes
- Supervising and supporting junior assistants
- Managing stock levels and reporting to administration
- Studio organization and general maintenance
- Cleaning tools, washing brushes, and maintaining the artist's workspace
- Basic stretcher frame assembly and canvas stretching
