Description

Job Summary

The Actors’ Church in Covent Garden seeks a proactive Senior Administrator for a one-year fixed-term contract, responsible for leading key administrative functions, supporting senior leaders and coordinating governance, projects and events.

Job Description

We are seeking an organised, proactive and resourceful Senior Administrator to play a central role in the running of the church. This is a full-time, one-year fixed-term position, offering the opportunity to join a small, friendly team in a unique arts, heritage and community setting.

Working closely with the Rector, Treasurer, Venue Manager and wider staff team, you will provide senior administrative and executive support, coordinate governance and oversee a range of operational responsibilities. You will also line manage the Administrative Assistant.

Key responsibilities include:

Providing administrative and executive support to senior colleagues, including diary management, correspondence and meeting coordination.

Acting as a key point of contact for staff, PCC members, visitors and external organisations.

Coordinating PCC meetings, preparing papers and minutes, and supporting APCM and Electoral Roll administration.

Managing the administration of weddings, funerals and memorial services, liaising sensitively with families, organisers and colleagues.

Researching issues, preparing recommendations, coordinating projects and managing relationships with suppliers and professional advisers.

Overseeing office operations, managing and developing the Administrative Assistant, and supporting recruitment and induction.

This is a varied role requiring someone who can work independently, exercise initiative and sound judgement, manage competing priorities and respond confidently to unexpected challenges. The successful candidate will be comfortable taking responsibility for complex pieces of work, identifying solutions to problems and coordinating with a wide range of people, while knowing when to seek advice or escalate decisions.

We welcome someone who is supportive of St Paul's as an inclusive Christian space rooted in love, equality and creative engagement, particularly with LGBTQ+ and performing arts communities.
