The role will be on a freelance basis. You would be working in an SEND School delivering dance lessons on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9am to 3.30pm. You will be required to deliver lesson plans from Fresh Arts CIC, but have the skillset to adapt the lessons around the needs of the learners.
Teaching dance sessions in an SEND school,catering for multiple and profound disabilities. Each class has a different range of needs, within our planning we provide a range of activities to pull from to make sure you can tailor the class accordingly. We're looking for someone with experience teaching SEND children and who can be adaptable, high energy and engaging with the children. The students are in KS1 and their sessions are explorative, using props to discover new ways of moving rather than copying, the teacher must be prepared to perform for the students in a way. The KS2 students will copy movements and learn simple choreography in their sessions.

Ideal candidates should:
- be North-London based and/or happy to travel to Brent.
- have an enhanced DBS check or be willing to get one.
- have a degree (or equivalent experience or training) in an arts subject.
- be comfortable leading and delivering workshops for full classes of children, ages ranging from 4-11.
- Be comfortable working with SEND learners with higher needs.
- have a positive attitude and great energy
- Be able to adapt lesson elements to suit the needs of the learners.

Qualifications
- Proven experience working with children in educational or extracurricular settings, preferably within early childhood education or childcare roles
- Proven experience working with SEND learners.
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, and colleagues
- Experience in teaching physical education or dance instruction is essential
- Ability to manage behaviour positively and foster a nurturing atmosphere
- Organised with excellent proofreading skills for lesson plans and educational materials
- Previous tutoring or mentoring experience is desirable
- Childcare certification or relevant qualifications in early childhood development are preferred
- Passion for inspiring young learners through creative movement and dance activities
