Job Description

ReWilding Dance Theatre is looking for a puppeteer / physical theatre artist to join an upcoming R&D phase leading towards a work-in-progress sharing.

We are seeking an artist with a strong movement foundation - ideally with experience in dance, physical theatre, or embodied practices - who can bring depth, sensitivity, and presence to the work.

This project is rooted in reconnection - to body, land, and ancestral memory - and we are looking for someone who resonates with this approach and is willing to engage both physically and energetically in the process.

The work will be professionally filmed and developed into a 3D digital experience, extending the life of the piece beyond the live performance.

Timeline
The puppeteer will be needed for two dates within the following weeks:
- Group creative meeting: late April / early May (exact date TBC)
- Residency 2 (puppetry focus): 15th-26th June 2026

What we offer:
- Paid opportunity in line with National Minimum Wage (UK)
- Access to the One Dance UK Health & Wellbeing Package
- A collaborative, intentional, and artist-led environment

Location: London (exact location TBC)

We especially encourage applications from artists with diverse backgrounds and lived experiences.

Let's create something alive, embodied, and meaningful.

Job Requirements

Desired:
- Around 5+ years of experience in puppetry and/or movement-based performance
- Background in dance, physical theatre, or movement disciplines
- Strong sense of embodiment, musicality, and storytelling through the body
- Capacity to engage with the spiritual and physical dimensions of the work with maturity
- Openness to ritual, connection, and process-led creation
