Mercury Musical Developments is the UK's membership organisation for writers of musical theatre. We are looking for a highly organised and proactive Projects Manager to join our team on a part-time basis (3 days per week), playing a key role in delivering a wide range of events and projects to support UK musical theatre writers and showcase new work. The role includes running member events and digital livestreams plus collaborating on the production of major initiatives like the BEAM showcase and the Stiles + Drewe Prize. It provides an excellent opportunity to make a real impact within the new musical theatre community. Location: One of our office bases in either London or Birmingham. Travel to the other base will be required approximately once per month for meetings and events. Contract: Fixed term 18 months, ideally to start in November 2025 Hours: 24 per week (3 full days or spread over more days). Salary: £18,000 (£30,000 FTE, pro-rated) We are seeking someone with experience delivering events or creative projects, strong communication skills, and a passion for UK musical theatre. Must be confident using digital tools, work well independently and in teams, and handle admin with accuracy. Some evening and UK travel required. Responsibilities for each project will vary. Collaborate with other staff to plan and deliver the biennial BEAM industry showcase of new musicals and biennial UK Musical Theatre Conference. Produce and monitor project budgets (alongside General Manager) and undertake fundraising duties for certain projects. Attend some BEAM pitching days in autumn 2026 Take an active role in conceiving and seeking out new projects and opportunities to benefit the MMD membership.
