Proven experience delivering exhibition, heritage or cultural capital projects.
Strong project management skills, including budget control, risk management and stakeholder coordination
Experience of working with a team of volunteers
Knowledge of exhibition interpretation, co-curation or collections care
Experience of working with diverse community partners
Experience working with designers, contractors and/or exhibition fabricators
Excellent communication and organisational skills
Commitment to inclusive practice and community engagement
Understanding of best practice in collections care and storage
Understanding of best practice in collections access and interpretation, including accessible and inclusive exhibition design
Knowledge of relevant museum standards such as the Accreditation scheme and SPECTRUM collections management standardJob Responsibilities
You will report to the Project Board and work closely with designers, contractors, community partners, local residents, volunteers, trustees and funders (including the National Lottery Heritage Fund).
Essential:
Project Leadership & Delivery
Oversee the delivery of the collections store, research facilities and exhibition spaces in the new building to agreed timelines, budgets and quality standards
Oversee the safe relocation of the collection
Create tender documents and lead the procurement of an Exhibition Design and Fit Out Company/s to take our concept designs to installation and handover
Assist the Exhibition Designers with coordination of contractors etcUseful Links
