Job Description You will be responsible for the project management of the final year of R&D on the FORGED initiative, supporting the Directors in the delivery of key outcomes, including but not limited to published directory, launch of public art action plan and associated public event, artist liaison supporting new commissions, stakeholder liaison with local authority and client contacts, quarterly reporting on outcomes and management of project budgets, liaison with lead fabricator, suppliers and manufacturers as required. We are looking for someone passionate about public art and artists development , with experience of working within art organisations, including freelancer experience. A knowledge of local authority and festival contacts both regionally, and nationally is central to the role. You will oversee and maintain projects through, artist liaison, budgeting, logistics, audience engagement, reporting and evaluation. The role is suited to someone reliable, organised and creative, who works well both independently and as part of a team. You will have a unique understanding of working with, and supporting artists and audiences, and be committed to equality, diversity and inclusion. You'll be a strategic thinker and problem solver and someone willing to get stuck in with all that comes with supporting an artist-led organisation. - Demonstrable experience of delivering complex and/or multiple events. - Experience of creating systems and processes to support project work and event management - Experience of managing and monitoring budgets - Strong communication and influence skills. - Good interpersonal and team-working skills - Good attention to detail, combined with first-class organisation and time management skills - Ability to remain flexible and proactive under pressure, demonstrating persistence, reliability andresilience. - Holding a current UK driving license and own transport is a prerequisite for this position, occasional driving will be required (mileage expenses are reimbursed). Desirable: - At least five years' experience working within an arts organisation or project manager role Project Management Oversee development of all elements of the FORGED project, including: Overseeing reporting to funders including Tees Valley Combined Authority Manage and monitor budgets and cash flow of the project Overseeing marketing and communications activity surrounding FORGED, ensuring that public and industry-facing facing information is consistent and coherent Recruitment and management of freelancers looking after particular elements of the project Reporting to and updating Middlesbrough Art Week and Navigator North Overseeing development of FORGED directory Overseeing development of Public Art Action Plan including how and where it is presented Development and delivery of an industry focused event in February 2026, to launch the Public Art Action Plan, including a range of presentations and workshops to provide professional development opportunities for local artists.
