Project Facilitator, National Museums Liverpool

Reporting to the Engagement Producer, you will be part of an inclusive and people-focused Learning & Participation team, delivering a varied programme of public events, workshops, and activities across our museums, galleries and community settings.

There has never been greater public demand or a more pertinent need to understand the heritage of the transatlantic slave trade and discuss its legacies. This role offers a unique opportunity to bring passion, energy, and commitment to a position that is central to delivering workshops and events with community stakeholders most affected by, and most invested in, the redevelopment of the International Slavery Museum and Maritime Museum, as well as the wider Waterfront Transformation Project.

You will play a key role in our community participation programme, supporting activities and events that explore themes including Black history, the broader Black experience, British history, chattel and transatlantic slavery, social movements and moments, racial inequalities, contemporary forms of slavery, and social injustice. You will be at the heart of our approach to involving local communities and wider UK stakeholders in shaping this important work.

As an organisation, we are committed to working with communities to ensure a diverse range of voices help shape the vision for transforming the International Slavery Museum and Maritime Museum - generously supported by The National Lottery Heritage Fund, thanks to National Lottery players.
