Job Summary

String of Hearts is looking for a freelance Project Coordinator to coordinate musical home visits for older adults in Trafford and Manchester.

Job Description

Contract: Freelance role averaging 10 hours per week, specific dates/ times to be agreed.

Period: June - September 2025, with potential for extension until December 2025.

Rate: £20 per hour, paid on receipt of invoice at end of calendar month.

Locations: Home working, community venues and participant homes across Trafford and Manchester.

Key Responsibilities

To coordinate String of Hearts' home visits project, connecting older adults who are housebound with local musicians across Trafford and Manchester. The role includes managing participant referrals, coordinating training and home visits, and liaising with stakeholders to enable the successful delivery of the project.

Administration (home working)

  • Coordinate project activities including training, supervised home visits and meetings
  • Proactively communicate with String of Hearts staff, musicians, participants and healthcare workers, sharing timely information and supporting their engagement
  • Create and share marketing materials to advertise social prescribing referrals and individual sign ups to the project
  • Manage social prescribing referrals, contacting participants and maintaining records
  • Advertise opportunities for musicians to join the project
  • Coordinate meetings and create notes, plans and reminders for team members

On-Site Coordination (community venues and participant homes)

  • Conduct initial risk assessment visits in participant homes
  • Liaise with musicians undertaking home visits, acting as the first point of contact for safeguarding and access needs and responding in line with String of Hearts' safeguarding and health & safety policies
  • Manage project equipment and resources
  • Support the team during training, meetings, and events
  • Represent String of Hearts professionally in all settings

Monitoring & Evaluation

  • Collect project data to support evaluation
  • Support the creation of reports and case studies for funders and stakeholders
  • Maintain accurate safeguarding records in line with our policies

Job Requirements

Essential

  • Experience of coordinating creative and/or community projects
  • Passionate about supporting older adults, particularly those experiencing social isolation or living with long-term health conditions
  • Passionate about using the arts to support health & wellbeing
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent time management and administrative skills
  • Computer literacy and confidence in using Microsoft Office
  • Ability to take the initiative and work independently
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders
  • A commitment to equal opportunities
  • Driving license and access to own vehicle

Desirable

  • Experience of gathering monitoring and evaluation data
  • Experience of undertaking marketing and comms to communicate with a range of stakeholders
  • Experience of implementing safeguarding procedures
  • Based in Trafford/ Manchester
