The Programme Manager: Pathways leads the planning, delivery and development of Britten Pears Arts' music learning pathways for children and young people. Leading programmes including Advanced Young Musicians (AYM), KS1 Musicianship and Friday Afternoons, the role ensures high-quality, inclusive musical experiences that support participation, progression and talent development. Working with artists, tutors and colleagues, the postholder will develop curricula, learning outcomes and clear progression routes, while overseeing participant recruitment, assessment and progression. They will manage rehearsals, courses, concerts and performances, ensuring an excellent and inclusive participant experience. The role will develop strong partnerships with schools, Music Hubs, conservatoires and other sector organisations, representing BPA externally and contributing to relevant networks. It will also oversee the development of Friday Afternoons, including digital content and licensing, and champion youth voice to ensure programmes reflect participants' needs and experiences. The Programme Manager will manage budgets, monitor expenditure and forecast costs, while leading evaluation and reporting to support continuous improvement. They will line manage staff, freelancers and artists, providing clear direction, support and development. Safeguarding is central to the role, ensuring activity meets safeguarding, licensing, DBS and Department for Education requirements. The successful candidate will be a trained musician with significant experience in music education and programme or event management, a strong understanding of the music education landscape and experience working with young people. They will be a confident, collaborative leader committed to educational excellence and inclusive practice. The role is based at Snape Maltings. Tuesday-Saturday, including after-school delivery on Fridays and occasional extended hours. £30,000 - £35,000 Trained musician with significant experience in music education.
