The ideal candidate will be passionate about music, the arts, community engagement, and creative collaboration. You will play a key role in coordinating the different projects that make up the NE FOLK programme, ensuring that activities are delivered on time, and to a high standard. You'll support artists, community partners, and participants to ensure that each aspect of our delivery reflects M@HoT's mission to use folk arts as a catalyst for positive change. Your responsibilities will include assisting with project planning, scheduling, and coordination; attending project team meetings; maintaining project documentation; liaising with participants / parents, tutors and partners; and supporting marketing, press and social media activity. The role involves working closely with M@HoT's Creative Director to support the planning and delivery of the NE FOLK. As a key member of our team, you'll attend (in-person / online) events and meetings. There will also be occasions where you are expected to join us to support delivery of workshops, public events & trips, which will include some evening / weekend work. In these instances, you will work with M@HoT's project teams to facilitate sessions and provide on-the-ground event support. This position requires flexibility, a strong sense of initiative, and excellent administrative skills. An initial contract will provide 30 days of work at a daily rate of £125/day over a 12-month period (avg 2.5 days / 18 hours per month), deliverable from the time of appointment; with the ambition to extend (funding dependent). We are open to discussion with the selected candidate whether they take on the position in a freelance / PAYE capacity.

Job Requirements

We anticipate that applicants will have at least two years' experience coordinating arts or community projects; a solid understanding of community engagement and safeguarding, and can evidence a commitment to youth voice and best practice around delivering work with / for young people. Excellent organisational and IT skills (word processing, CRM, data management, marketing tools, web management, spreadsheets etc.) are essential, along with strong communication and teamwork abilities. You should be confident working independently and managing several projects at once. A positive attitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion are vital. The successful candidate will need to provide appropriate DBS as part of eligibility for employment. A full clean UK driving licence and access to transport are required due to the rural nature of our work.
