Description

Job Summary

We are looking for for an experienced and creative Programme & Engagement Manager with a background in community engagement and public programmes to join the team at a pivotal time in the transformation of Cornwall Museum and Art Gallery. This is a critical role in our transformation journey.

Job Description

Broad Description

This is an exciting time to join the team. This key role is part of the management team and will play a significant part in shaping the programme and community engagement that supports the transformation project and looks ahead to the future.

You will take a collaborative and strategic approach in the development of a programme of activities, ensuring our offer is inclusive, accessible and representative of our communities. This includes leading on the initiation, evaluation and delivery of external funding applications to create the public programme of community engagement, events, outreach, consultation, exhibitions, interpretation and gallery interactives, produced collaboratively within the RIC team, with external partners and community representatives.

You will have a strong commitment to equality and diversity, with experience of developing audiences by implementing accessible and inclusive practice. You will lead on the delivery of the Arts Council England funded programme through MC7, comprised of the seven partner museums in Cornwall; PK Porthcurno, Cornwall Museum and Art Gallery, Wheal Martyn, Penlee House, Falmouth Art Gallery, Bodmin Keep and the Museum of Cornish Life.

You will be able to effectively manage project workflow and budgets, maintaining appropriate project records and reporting as required.

This role requires strong people skills, creativity and managerial skills, as you will build successful relationships with external organisations and stakeholders acting as an advocate for the museum and gallery to support the transformation project and the long-term sustainability of the organisation.
