Job Description

The Cornish Bank is a grassroots, community-focused live music venue and cultural space. We host a wide range of shows - from local bands and DJs to international touring artists - alongside community events, workshops and festivals.

We're looking for a multi-skilled, people-focused Production Manager with sound engineering skills and marketing experience to help deliver great shows, look after artists, and support the promotion and smooth running of the venue.

This is a hands-on role that blends sound engineering, show management, artist liaison, admin and social media. No two days (or nights) are the same.

Deadline: Midnight, 16 February
Salary to be considered on interview in line with National Minimum Wage legislation.

Job Requirements

You will ideally have:
Solid live sound engineering experience in small-mid size venues
Good understanding of PA systems, mics, monitors and basic lighting
Strong organisation and admin skills
Confidence using social media for events or creative projects
A warm, welcoming approach to artists, crew and audiences
Ability to stay calm under pressure on busy show nights
A genuine interest in grassroots music and community venues

Nice to have (but not essential):
Experience advancing shows or tour managing
Basic lighting desk knowledge
Experience working in CICs, arts or community settings
Experience working with Meta ads and/or other platforms

Job Responsibilities

Sound & Production
Sound engineer for live shows
Set up, operate and pack down PA, monitors and basic lighting
Troubleshoot tech issues calmly and professionally during shows
Work with visiting engineers and touring crews
Book and coordinate freelance lighting engineers
Show & Artist Management
Act as a welcoming first point of contact for artists and promoters
Advance shows with artists/managers
Manage show days alongside the wider team
Help ensure artists have a positive, supportive experience at the venue
Marketing & Social Media
Create social media content
Capture simple photo/video content on show nights
Work with promoters and artists to amplify event promotion
Support mailing lists, listings and basic marketing admin
Administration & Organisation
Maintain clear show paperwork/records
Liaise with freelancers, engineers and suppliers
Support diary management and internal communication
Keep tech spaces organised and flag equipment needs
