Production Manager role - 6 months fixed term PAYE maternity cover. Start April 2026, with possibility of extension.
We're seeking a talented Production Manager to lead a diverse range of projects from concept to delivery. The successful candidate will partner with a multitude of brands to create & construct captivating set builds across fashion, TV & Film, as well as immersive experiences & exhibitions.
The ideal candidate will be passionate about problem solving with experience in a set build management role or similar. They will be a creative thinker with great organisational and management skills. The candidate will have a drive for set building and an extensive understanding of creative construction.
- Leading production management for small - medium scale projects. Delivering projects on time and within budget without compromising our high standards.
- Producing accurate costs and estimates based on design briefs & technical drawings. Managing the budget of each project to ensure target margins are met.
- Developing and communicating accurate timelines; scheduling staff, and allocating resources efficiently.
- Reporting & evaluating on how successful each project has been in our internal wash up meetings.
- Building on relationships with new and existing suppliers and makers/freelancers, whilst maintaining a client facing presence on project/set.
- Staying updated on new materials, suppliers, and processes to drive efficiency & innovation.
- Managing project administration tasks such as creating schedules, purchase orders, communicating with suppliers, and overseeing timesheets.
- Understanding health and safety compliance to ensure each project meets relevant requirements. This includes producing accurate and in-depth RAMS for each project and installation.
- Distributing day to day tasks in the workshop and managing the team of makers to create the best workflows.
- Comfortable communicating with clients, managing expectations and working face to face on set.
- Minimum 2 year's experience in set building production management or in a similar production role.
- Excellent communication, both written & verbal, as well as exceptional time management skills.
- Sketch UP & CAD proficient. (Desirable but not essential)
- Able to confidently navigate and read CAD/ technical drawings. (Essential)
- Proven leadership and management skills, with experience of staff and crew management.
- Knowledge of the creative construction process & timelines, with an advanced understanding of materials, and assembly processes.
- Able to work confidently in Excel & Google sheets.
- Great budgeting and financial skills.
- The ability to have a flexible approach to working hours if projects require early starts, working late or weekend work.
- Resourcefulness and an ability to problem solve.
- Excellent teamwork skills, applied across multiple disciplines.
- Great attention to detail and a passion for creative fabrication.
