The Barn Theatre is seeking an experienced, proactive Producer to join its senior producing team. Working closely with the Executive Director, Creative Producer and Artistic Director, the Producer will be responsible for the development, delivery and ongoing management of the Barn Theatre's programme of in-house productions, transfers, tours and commercial projects. This is a hands-on producing role overseeing projects from initial idea through rehearsal, performance, post-production and future life. The Producer will play a key role in maintaining the Barn's reputation for high-quality, artist-led work, delivered on time, on budget and to the highest professional standards. Key responsibilities include identifying and developing new work; securing rights; collaborating with writers, directors and creative teams; overseeing workshops and R&D; setting and managing production budgets; maintaining schedules and payment runs; negotiating and issuing contracts; and ensuring compliance with industry agreements. The role also involves close collaboration with Production, Marketing and Press teams, attendance at rehearsals and press nights, and managing productions throughout their run. The successful candidate will have proven experience producing within a comparable theatre or commercial producing environment, strong financial literacy, excellent organisational skills and a confident, collaborative approach to working with creative teams. A strong understanding of UK theatre contracts and producing practice is essential. The role is primarily based at the Barn Theatre in Cirencester, with regular travel to London and touring venues as required.
