Shakespeare's Globe is currently seeking a Press Officer on a full-time, permanent basis.

The role:
The Press Officer will hold an impactful role within the Communications & PR team at Shakespeare's Globe and promote all Globe activity from Bankside and beyond. This role will work with the media to enhance the Globe's reputation and champion our work and values to a wide range of audiences.

The skills:

  • Proven experience of working in PR, preferably within a cultural environment, and proactive approaches to media campaigns.
  • Proven experience managing filming and/or photography shoots.
  • Demonstrable initiative and motivation to work hard and learn.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to deal courteously, and with discretion with a range of people at all levels.
  • Good organisational skills and administrative skills with the proven ability to meet multiple deadlines.
  • Experience of copywriting for different target audiences.
  • Good team worker with the ability to develop and maintain good working relationships.
  • Demonstrable passion for theatre and the work of the Globe.

The team:
This role joins a busy Communications & PR team, comprising a Head of Communications & PR, Press Manager, Communications Assistant, Social Media Manager, and Social Media Officer. Communications & PR sits within the wider Audiences department, which also includes Marketing, Digital & Data, Ticketing & Sales, Retail, and Visitor & Audience Operations.
