- Strong technical knowledge of kiln operation, glaze preparation, and clay processes

- Basic administrative and inventory management skillsJob Responsibilities
- Operate and manage kiln firings safely and efficiently
- Maintain kiln shelves, including removal of glaze contamination
- Produce and manage glaze tests using test tiles
- Measure, mix, and sieve glazes following established recipes
- Blunge and maintain existing glaze batches
- Prepare reclaim clay using a pug mill
- Produce plaster bats and test tiles
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of all studio areas, including kiln room and storage spaces
- Apply bat wash to kiln shelves, and cookies
- Empty and maintain the clay trap
- Clean and organise kiln furniture and materials
- Monitor and track studio supplies (clay, glazes, slips, underglazes, etc.)
- Assist with inventory management and ordering
- Unpack and organise deliveries
- Carry out basic administrative tasks, including emails and stock recordsUseful Links
