Position: Female Personal Assistant
Location: North London (N10)
Employment Type: Part-time and ad hoc positions available
Salary: Starting at £18 per hour, rising to £20 per hour after successful completion of up to 8-week probationary period

Start date: ASAP (also happy to wait for notice)

About the Role: I'm a 41-year-old female who works in film and theatre following completion of my masters degree. I have cerebral palsy and use augmentative and alternative communication to communicate as I have no biological speech. I'm looking for someone who can assist with both my creative work and provide personal care support. I'm currently (and pretty much always) working on several exciting projects. The role is based in a domestic setting in North London, and while at work, you will have your own private room with an en suite.

Additional Information:

  • Shifts are approximately 12 hours long

    Optional paid overnight shifts

    This role is primarily to cover weekend shifts, usually two weekends a month with the option of covering holidays etc during the week. The rota is done a month in advance to help plan. I am open to ad hoc positions that are flexible, eg working a few shifts a month as mutually agreed.

    Options for PAYE or self-employment (UTR required).

    Role includes a paid break and meals during shifts.


Job Requirements

Essential Requirements:

  • High level of spoken and written English

    Physically fit (able to walk distances whilst we are out and perform basic household duties)

    Open-minded with a sense of humour

    Willingness to advocate for me if needed

    Good IT skills

    Female

    Ability to work both under instruction and on own initiative

    Interest in learning about disability rights and the Social Model of Disability

    Ability to stay calm and composed in challenging situations

Desirable Skills:

  • Full driving licence (for travel within the UK)

    Interest in theatre, arts, or filmmaking

    Experience or knowledge of augmentative and alternative communication

Job Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Creative Assistance: Assist with research, administrative tasks, and some creative duties related to film and theatre production.

    Travel Support: Accompany and assist with travel to meetings, rehearsals, auditions, and social events, including trips in and out of London.

    Personal Care: Provide support with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and general hygiene (no lifting involved).

    Housekeeping: Perform household tasks, including maintaining equipment, cleaning, cooking, laundry, etc.
