We are looking for a creative, practical and well-rounded individual to join our bespoke picture-framing business in Hoxton, London.

This is a part-time role working three days per week. Our Hours are 10-5pm and you will be required to work 3 consecutive days, which can be agreed upon.

The role would suit someone looking for flexibility alongside the opportunity to become a long-term member of a small, established and growing business.

This is a varied and hands-on position. You will be involved in all aspects of producing bespoke picture frames and fine-art print products, as well as occasionally assisting with gallery exhibitions, installations and opening events.

Salary: £24,000 to £28,000 pro rata, depending on experience.

Job Requirements

Previous picture-framing experience is preferred, although candidates with relevant carpentry, joinery or workshop experience will also be considered.

Candidates without framing experience may be considered, and training can be provided for the right person. Priority will be given to applicants who are already confident working in a practical workshop environment.

Useful skills and experience include:

Picture framing
Carpentry, joinery or practical workshop experience
Careful artwork handling
Strong attention to detail
Confidence using workshop tools and machinery
Sales and customer service
An interest in art and exhibitions
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
Reliability, organisation and the ability to work independently

The role involves standing for extended periods and safely handling frames, glass, artwork and workshop materials.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities may include:

Mounting and handling artworks
Cutting, joining, sanding and finishing frames
Cutting glass, mountboard and backing board
Fitting and finishing completed frames
Using workshop tools and machinery safely
Assisting with fine-art printing and related products
Speaking with customers and assisting with framing enquiries
Helping with exhibition installations and gallery events
Maintaining an organised and efficient workshop
Supporting general administration where required

The role is based at Well Hung Framing in Hoxton, London, and some occasional evening availability may be required for exhibition openings.
