Job Summary

We are looking for a New Business Assistant to work as part of the New Business and Communications team, supporting the Associate, New Business and Communications in the delivery of the practice’s new business activities.

Job Description

The New Business Assistant will work closely with the Associate, New Business and Communications, to support the practice's new business activity, with a focus on international design competitions, tenders and strategic opportunities.

The role involves researching new opportunities, coordinating bid and competition submissions, maintaining new business systems, and assisting with the preparation of high-quality written and visual materials across cultural, heritage, residential, civic and commercial sectors.

The role will also support targeted marketing activity, including preparing materials for prospective clients and collaborators, updating contact lists and opportunity trackers, and gathering relevant project information.

The successful candidate will be a confident communicator with strong organisational skills, an interest in architecture and design culture, and the ability to work independently, proactively and flexibly in response to live opportunities and deadlines.

Job Requirements

You will be a confident communicator, able to work independently, manage your time effectively, and demonstrate initiative. You will be adaptable to change and able to work flexibly in accordance with the requirements of the role.
Ideally, you will have experience in a similar role within a relevant industry, demonstrating excellent written and verbal communication skills. You will be expected to have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign, in order to develop submission materials in line with the practice's graphic standards.

Job Responsibilities

You will assist with direct marketing connected to wider new business activity; helping to prepare targeted material, keep contact lists and opportunity trackers up to date, and gather relevant project information for prospective clients and collaborators.
You will develop a strong knowledge and understanding of the practice's projects, people, and expertise. You will also support the ongoing development and maintenance of the practice's new business resources and knowledge base.
