We’re seeking an enthusiastic Musical Theatre After School Club Leader to teach singing, dancing and acting to primary‑aged children and lead end‑of‑term performances. Strong musical theatre training and confident classroom leadership are essential.

Job Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic, skilled and reliable Musical Theatre After School Club Leader to join The Star Project Events. This is a specialist teaching role and requires strong ability in singing, dancing and acting, as well as confidence leading groups of primary aged children.

You will work with up to 30 children (ages 4-11) during term time to produce a high quality musical theatre performance for parents at the end of each term. This role is perfect for someone passionate about children's performing arts, confident in classroom management, and excited to deliver engaging, structured sessions.
Applicants must have genuine musical theatre training or qualifications. Applications without this knowledge will not be accepted.

After school provisions run from 3.15pm-4.30pm every weekday and are paid at ÂŁ40 per session. Other opportunities to earn are available during your time with us.

Job Requirements

Essential Requirements
Full UK Driving Licence (travel between schools required).
Enhanced DBS with Child Barred List Check.
Minimum 1 year's experience teaching musical theatre to children.
Strong knowledge or qualifications in singing, dancing, acting - ideally all three.
Self sufficient, organised and reliable.
Confident managing groups of up to 30 primary aged children.
Able to commit to the role for at least 2 years.
Individuals currently auditioning cannot be considered, as we require consistent, reliable teachers for continuity.

Job Responsibilities

Preparing for Sessions
Planning and delivering structured, engaging sessions that build towards a polished end of term performance.
Ensuring all children feel confident, supported and prepared for the show.

Choreographing Movement to Songs
Creating exciting, age appropriate choreography and movement sequences.
Ensuring routines are clean, well rehearsed and performance ready.

Teaching Singing, Dancing and Acting
Leading high quality musical theatre sessions covering all three disciplines.
Supporting children with vocals, character work, staging and performance skills.

Additional Responsibilities
Completing basic administrative tasks (registers, communication with parents, etc.).
Maintaining excellent safeguarding practice at all times.
Opportunities for additional hours and progression within the company.
